A Typical Day
At Kopila Nepa, every day is thoughtfully planned to nurture children’s holistic growth, balancing learning, play, health, and emotional wellbeing. Below is a typical daily routine followed in our Early Childhood Development (ECD) and BCS children.
9:30 – 10:00 AM | Pick-up and Arrival at Kopila Nepa center, Sanogaun
The day begins with our team picking up children from nearby communities and brick factory areas.
Teachers and caregivers warmly welcome each child, ensuring their safe travel and cheerful start to the day. This also helps maintain attendance and encourages punctuality, especially for children whose parents are working during the day.10:00 – 10:30 AM | Hygiene and Morning Preparation
Upon reaching the Kopila Nepa Center, children are guided to wash their hands and faces, brush their teeth, use the toilet, and comb their hair neatly. This routine promotes personal hygiene, independence, and dignity, important life skills that are taught with care and encouragement. Teachers and assistants support the younger children, creating a nurturing and calm environment to start the day fresh and ready to learn.
10:30 – 11:00 AM | Morning Assembly and Energizing Activities
The morning assembly is a joyful and interactive session that brings all students together.
It includes:
• Singing songs and rhymes to build confidence and rhythm.
• Simple exercises or dancing to boost energy and coordination.
• Short quizzes or question rounds to stimulate curiosity.
• House-wise or group activities that foster teamwork and friendly competition.
The assembly helps children develop a sense of community and belonging while reinforcing discipline and focus for the day ahead.11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Classroom Learning and Leadership Activities
Formal learning begins with engaging and creative classroom activities.
Lessons are designed to enhance literacy, numeracy, general knowledge, and life skills through storytelling, drawing, and participatory learning methods.
This session also includes meditation and mindfulness exercises, helping children improve attention, calmness, and self-awareness.
Leadership development is introduced through small classroom responsibilities such as:
• Assigning class captains or group leaders.
• Rotating tasks like organizing materials or leading morning songs.
These roles help children gain confidence, responsibility, and teamwork skills1:00 – 1:30 PM | Tiffin, Meal Time
During this time, children enjoy a nutritious meal together. Teachers and caregivers encourage good eating habits, sharing, and table manners. After the meal, children have a short break for free play and rest — allowing them to relax, interact socially, and recharge for the afternoon. Younger children often take a brief nap, while others engage in light indoor games or storytelling.
1:30 – 2:00 PM | Play and refreshment Time
2:00 – 2:45 PM | Afternoon Classroom Activities
The afternoon session focuses on creative learning and practical engagement.
Depending on the day’s theme, activities may include:
• Art, craft, and coloring exercises.
• Group reading or phonics practice.
• Counting games, puzzles, and storytelling.
Teachers also use this time to provide individual support to children who need extra help with reading or writing.
This period ensures that learning remains fun and stimulating while reinforcing key concepts taught earlier in the day.2:45 – 3:00 PM | Pack-up and Departure
As the school day concludes, children organize their materials, tidy their classrooms, and prepare to return home.
Teachers ensure that every child leaves safely, accompanied by staff during drop-off.
A short goodbye circle allows children to share what they enjoyed during the day, reinforcing positive reflection and communication.Apart from daily routine, we have regular outings where children go around the community as a part of their learning. They can observe and learn more effectively when they are exposed to the real environment of the society that they are in. There are other extra-curricular activities that students involve. They have sports and other physical exercise sessions.
Kopila Nepa also respects students from different cultural backgrounds. Different festivals and cultural practices are followed here.
This thoughtful end to the day helps children build daily routines and look forward to returning to school with enthusiasm.
